About Tether

Tether (USDT) is a cryptocurrency with a value meant to mirror the value of the U.S. dollar. The idea was to create a stable cryptocurrency that can be used like digital dollars. Coins that serve this purpose of being a stable dollar substitute are called “stable coins.” According to their site, Tether converts cash into digital currency, to anchor or “tether” the value of the coin to the price of national currencies like the US dollar, the Euro, and the Yen. Tether (USDT) is issued on the Omni, TRON, and ETH blockchains. For details on the issuance across the different chains, please refer to: https://wallet.tether.to/transparency

I just posted this in r/scams and don't have proof besides my conversations with the "girl" and intuition. I'm not the kind of guy that's gonna tell someone how to spend their money but I'm also not gonna keep my mouth shut if I see something that isn't right. I've never really messed around with Tinder till this pandemic situation. That being said, I recently switched up my location to Asia to meet some girls before a trip I'm supposed to take in the fall. I'm from the US. Most of the US matches I get are common cam girl or gift card scams but what they have in Asia is on a whole new level. I matched with a "girl" a few weeks back who tried to scam me into signing up for a BS lottery site designed to take your money. \*Edited to include link to lottery site scam thread other "w... First we shoot the shit about what's going on in the world for a few days. Then she subtly hints to me that she's making money on the side investing in Cryptocurrency. She shows me her investments and I told her I've never really looked into it. A few days of conversation pass and she again steered the conversation to money/business last night. She sent me an updated screenshot of her investments and it showed she made some solid gains. Out of curiosity I started to look her crypto investment called USDT. On paper it can possibly pass for something real but when you really dive into it,I researched for a full hour) 90% of what is being said about it points to a large scale scam. I told her what I thought about it and that she should take her money out and run. She said I have quite an imaginationred flag). That was something the other girl in the previous scam said when I was suspicious about that gambling site. She hasn't responded to me since she realized that I wasn't gonna buy in.
