About Storj

Storj (STORJ) hopes to provide decentralised cloud storage to its community. Storj works on the premise that each user is entitled to the same amount of space on the network as they make available to the community. Users can also receive payment for renting their extra disk space. Files are split up into smaller components and dispersed across an array of devices, with users maintaining control of their keys, which grants them access to their files, at all times. As a result, this decentralised cloud storage model creates additional security for users relative to centralized cloud storage providers.

I signed up to become a hosting node a week ago. I am supposed to receive an access key, but I have not received an email yet. It seems to be a big obstacle and I don't understand why the would not want to accept as many nodes as possible. Accepting more nodes makes the network more robust. Why is there an activation code and how to get it ? Thank you.

Hello - So we all know that not every last coin exchange out there supports Storj. Among those that do, though, many will not allow residents of the United States to trade (such as Binance & Huobi). Of those, several mention that they are not open to residents of the state of New York (including Binance.us). What’s a person to do in these situations? Any ideas of the reasons behind such restrictions?

I thought I'd try storing some files but the on-boarding won't let me see what the client looks like until I pay. What does the client interface look like? Is it CLI only for Mac or is there a browser extension or anything.

Edit: Meant traffic per month not the current bandwidth Hi, I just set up a node, but couldn't find a way to limit my bandwith? It looks like with the new version the bandwidth parameters are deprecated? See [here](https://forum.storj.io/t/bandwidth-available-is-n-a-with-e-bandwidth-3000tb/5638)for example? Or am I misunderstanding something? How can i limit my bandwidth?

Has something happened at 15 april to justify the volume boom that can be seen in cmc [https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/storj/markets](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/storj/markets) ? Most of it seems on exchange [BKEX](https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/bkex/), maybe thay just fake volume?
